DS CLUB Opening: SMART AND HEALTHY SUNDAY

During 9 months of project activity we realized that there are a lot of friends who support and cheer for the project. However, usually all socializing was limited to the consulting and exchange of views online, but we really wanted to meet people

DS Club meetings will be held once in 2 weeks on Sundays at the café and restaurants – members of DiningSmart club and its partners. The Goal of the project is to get acquainted with bright personalities who are caring about their own health, healthy dining, cooking, healthy lifestyle, and also to provide useful and up to date information about healthy dining and healthy lifestyle.

The first meeting was on 1st of February in Almaty, at Crème Fouette café, the member of DiningSmart club of socially responsible dining places. The meeting started from trying the delicious and healthy snacks and was continued to informal chat and introduction of each other.

The topic of first meeting was Ginger. Unusually shaped with unforgettable flavor the ginger is able to replace the whole drugstore: it takes away the headache, helps to live through toxication, and even increases the libido.

Alima Kopbayeva, the author of “Limonka’s notes” blog and DiningSmart staff, in details talked about healthy features of the ginger, where we could see it and how to cook. Club’s guests were listening to it attentively, as well as tasting the ginger tea thanks to which people look well and practically do not get ill.

The main guest of the first Clubs’ meeting was Togzhan Burkitbayeva, the founder of T’OKO company. Having graduated from one of the leading US universities and studied oil and gas, Togzhan has worked in Atyrau in one of major oil and gas companies. However, she always wanted to try something which significantly different from engineering and at the same to study business.

This is how during the summer of 2014 T’oko goods were created, and Togzhan combines her passion with studying at business school. Now Togzhan and her team create various gingerbreads, printed cakes (with similar technology to Tula honey-cakes), exclusive caramel, marzipan, and chocolate. All pastry is made out of such high quality ingredients as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and others, and you can always purchase the cakes at Unciya stores in Almaty and Astana.

Togzhan prepared the basic cakes for Club members and led the master class on how to paint cakes.

All guests with pleasure followed the example and started to create providing the cakes an unusual creative shape.

In the end of master class there were chosen the most creative works, whose authors received the souvenirs from organizers.

DiningSmart team invites everyone to join to the next Club meeting which will take place on 15th of February. Tons of useful information, new friends and an excellent weekend will be waiting for You!
