DiningSmart presented the project on International Internet Exhibition
Zhibek Karamanova, the co-founder of the project, has given a speech on topic “Dining Smart, or Why there are no Michelin starred restaurants in Kazakhstan”. The topic was very interesting to many guests, which followed to a long discussion and questions to the speaker. Zhibek told the audience about such reasons as absence of world widely recognized culinary school in Kazakhstan, absence of the restaurants with long history, absence of information and understanding of mass media about healthy dining and haute cuisine, unacceptability of the critical view by Kazakh restaurateurs, and also lack of development of Kazakhstan and Central Asia overall as touristically attractive region, and other reasons.
DiningSmart plans to create a rating of best socially responsible dining places, both with the help of Agents DiningSmart and opinions of web site visitors. The audience liked the concept and idea DiningSmart due to its novelty and unusual approach.
- Around 80% of respondents think about healthy dining;
- 65% practice healthy lifestyle;
- 60% are not satisfied with service and cuisine od many popular dining places of Kazakhstan;
- And unexpectedly for DiningSmart, the most popular and favourite cuisine became the Turkish cuisine.
