The process of adipose tissue formation in the human body: It's all about insulin!

In order to understand the basic methods of weight loss and proper nutrition according to Michel Montignac, at first you will need to understand the process of fat deposition in the human body. Having understood the process, you will be able to take possession of certain tools and outsmart your own body. Then, instead of forming an adipose tissue, your body will use all the calories to form an energy.

For example, every day I eat carbohydrates for breakfast (e.g. bread, fruits and vegetables, sugar in tea). Once they get into the blood, the carbohydrates increase the level of sugar in my body. Sugar, or glucose, is the power source for the brain, muscles and the entire body. Therefore, very often when we feel tired, someone says: "Eat a chocolate". The carbohydrates are vital to us. That is to say, we cannot live without them. This can be explained by the fact that they are a key source of nutrition for the brain, which, in its turn, does not care where to get food from. In the absence of carbohydrates, your brain starts to eat muscle, hair, and nails. With this in mind, be aware of low-carb diets. That’s a road to nowhere.

So, let’s get back to the adipose tissue formation. Once in the blood, the carbohydrate boosts sugar. Hence, in order to prevent sugar rise, the body begins to produce the insulin hormone. The insulin hormone works as a logistician. It transports excess sugar (glucose) in liver or muscles for further storage. After that, the blood sugar level drops again to the desired norm.

A person with good metabolism produces exactly as much insulin as you need to reduce sugar. However, most people have their metabolism disturbed. Therefore, their bodies produce more insulin than needed. Excessive insulin production is called hyperinsulism. Overweight, especially, obesity, are always associated with hyperinsulism. The more insulin is produced, the more excess weight is gained, whereas the less insulin is produced, the more weight is lost.

What is the poor insulin blamed for? What bad thing does it do to us? If there is much of insulin, it:
  1. Inhibits the breakdown of adipose tissue.
  2. Mobilizes free fatty acids into the blood (or just fat) and increases the amount of fat cells.
  3. Converts the excess glucose into fat
Example: I ate white bread (carbohydrate). What's going on in my body? The eaten white bread greatly increases the level of sugar in blood (glucose). Large quantities of insulin are starting to be produced. The insulin, in its turn, takes the excess glucose and turns it into fat. Congratulations, you’ve got fat. J
So, our task is to decrease the insulin production as much as possible!!! Only then we’ll be able to start the process of weight loss.
About this, my friends, you will learn in the next episode.
