When you are willing to change your food habits for the better, start with the simple things. I suggest you to go with the 7 easy steps, which helped me to start my way to healthy eating.

Just give them a try, even if now you think that they are too minor and not worth it! You will notice a difference just after 3 weeks of following them. These steps will help you to build up new habits and stop being such a noob in healthy eating. Let’s go, guys!

1. Water with Lemon

Begin your day not with scrolling news feeds in your phone but with a glass of water with lemon.  Sqeeze a lemon quater into a glass of water in the evening and put the glass near your bed. In the morning, right after a good stretching, pull your hand out to grab and drink it up. Then, you can take your phone, turn on the music and go to shower. This drink will not only awaken your body but will also make your day. It's just a minute of your time, which will benefit you very soon.

And also, make it a habit to take a small bottle of water with you to school or at work. Drink it whenever you feel like getting an unhealthy drink with artificial colors and weird additives.

2. Less Sugar

Minimize the amount of sugar consumed. It is easy to say and will be easy to do if you, at first, replace usual refined sugar with a cane sugar, honey or stevia.

And if it gets too difficult without sugar then get a spoon of an organic jam – slightly sweet berries will provide vitamins and brighten up gray winter days.

3. Nuts and Fruits

Replace your usual unhealthy snacks with fresh and dry fruits and nuts. Couple bananas or apples will recharge you whenever you feel hunger and, plus, they won't take a lot of space in your bag.

Most of the times I take with me a bag with a mix of activated almonds, walnuts, dried apricots, plums and figs. Get yourself a pack of zip-lock bags, those bags are wonderful for keeping your ready-to-go mixes.

It's better to eat your fruits in the first half of the day.

Don't eat too much of nuts - they are high in calories. A handful would be just enough to keep you full a whole day long.

4. Bread Time

Replace your white toasts with a whole grain or rye bread. They are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin B, nutritiens such as phosphorus, manganese, zince, copper and iron. On top of that, they are less in starch and rich in fiber.

5. Say No to Mayo

For real, say no to mayo - there is nothing healthy in it. Instead, use a yougurt or olive oil with lemon in your salads and appetizers. That will staight up make you feel better, healthier and your skin will say thanks.

6. Dark Chocolate

Many people sweets craving right after having a meal. In this situations I suggest to eat chocolate. But instead of a usual and overprocessed one, get a good quality dark chocolate. Chocolate with a  cocoa content of 65% and more will feed your hunger, provide more energy and nourish your grey matter.

I'm sure that these simple steps will help you to start changing your food habbits gradually. Start with whatever feels to be real to do today and you will be looking for bigger changes towards a healthy and clean eating tomorrow!
